중학교 1학년의 고교-대학 입시 연계 전략

고교입시에서 자기주도학습전형이 도입되면서 무엇보다 조기 진로 결정이 중요해지고 있다. 흔히 영어 내신이나 포트폴리오 등의 중요성을 강조하지만 고교의 유형이 다양해지고, 체험활동 등의 비교과 영역의 중요성이 커지는 것은 결국 조기에 자신의 진학 로드맵을 수립해야 유리해진다는 것이다. 특히 성적에 의한 진학 계획보다는 자신의 흥미와 적성을 감안해 앞으로 어떤 고교에 갈지, 고교에 입학해 무엇을 얼마나 공부해, 어느 대학과 학과에 갈 것인가를 중점적으로 고민해야 한다.

★ 가장 먼저 자신의 인생 설계를 구체적으로 그려라!
지금 당장 무엇을 해야 할까? 라는 고민은 시간 낭비에 그칠 가능성이 높다. 매번 즉흥적으로 급한 것부터 처리하다보면 계획없이 흔들리기 쉽기 때문이다. 가장 먼저 자신의 삶 전체에 대한 큰 그림을 먼저 그리고, 자신이 해야 할 일들을 구체화하는 것이 좋다. 자신이 하고 싶은 미래의 직업에 대해 인터넷이나 신문,서적 등을 통해 충분한 정보를 알아보고, 자신의 미래를 구체적으로 상상해 작성해 보자.

★ 자신의 적성과 진로에 맞는 희망 고교 유형을 정하라!
자신의 미래 지도를 그렸다면 이제 앞으로 무엇을 어떻게 선택할 것인가?에 대해서 준비하면 된다. 무엇보다 한국의 교육체계 특성상 고교와 대학/학과에 대한 선택이 중요하다. 고교의 특성에 따라 향후 대학 입시를 준비하는 선택의 폭이 현실적으로 제한되거나 졸업 후 진로가 정해지기 때문이다. 또한 희망하는 고교에 따라 중학교 3년 내내 해야 할 학습의 방향은 달라진다. 학교의 유형이나 학교에 따라 반영하는 과목이나 준비 방법이 달라지기 때문이다.

★ 고교 입시 전형에 따른 반영과목은 전략적으로 학습해라.
이제 희망하는 고교에 진학하기 위한 현실적인 준비를 해야 한다. 희망 고교의 입시 전형 방법을 살펴 반영 과목의 우수한 내신 성적을 확보해야 한다. 만일 외고에 진학하려고 한다면 무엇보다 영어 과목에서만큼은 1등급을 최대한 확보해야 한다.

★ 독서, 봉사활동, 체험활동은 희망 진로와 연계해 준비하라!
최근 더욱 중요해지고 있는 독서, 봉서활동, 체험활동 등은 양이 중요한 것이 아니라 활동의 질이 핵심이다. 이때 평가의 기준은 무엇보다 희망 진로와의 연계성이다. 따라서 자신의 진로와 연계된 활동을 찾아서 적극적으로 해야 한다. 진로와의 연계가 없는 다양성은 미래에 대한 고민이 없는 학생으로 평가받을 수도 있다.

Let’s Reduce Plastic Waste to Make Earth Healthy!

Last week, we learned that plastics are bad for our environment. Plastics don’t break down easily and recycling them costs a lot of money and time. Therefore, we should reduce plastic waste to protect the Earth, even if plastics make our lives more convenient. You should be very careful and thoughtful when throwing away plastics. This week, let’s learn how to reduce plastic waste wisely to help improve our environment.
You can reduce plastic waste by becoming an environmentally-friendly shopper. Whenever you go shopping with your family, always remember to bring your own cloth bags. Plastic bags create many environmental problems all over the world. Using reusable cloth bags is a great to protect our environment. Do not buy packaged foods in plastic. Do not buy beverages bottles in plastic, either. Instead, buy foods packaged in glass jars or paper cartons. It is also a good idea to carry your own reusable stainless steel or ceramic beverage container when going out.
Tell your parents not to get to-go coffee because the disposable plastic lids won’t break down for over 100 years! Tell them to bring their own steel tumblers to the coffee shop instead. When going to the restaurant, bring glass or steel containers to package leftovers. When ordering drinks, say “no straw please!” to the waiter or waitress because straws are also made out of plastic.
There are many ways to reduce plastics at home, too. For example, do not use plastic containers or plastic bags to store foods in the fridge. Store all your food in glass containers and use glass cups when drinking water, juice, or milk - it is actually better for your health, too.
Also, stop using hair sprays, deodorants, and air fresheners because their containers are usually made out of plastic. For parties, use silverware or glassware instead of plastic. Use rechargeable batteries to reduce buying batteries packaged in plastic.

 

[Entertainment]   France Loving K-Pop
Believe it or not, France has become the center for the Korean wave(spread of Korean culture) in Europe after it was first introduced through France 2, a television channel in January. Countless French K-pop fans have created a Facebook account titled “Concert K-Pop a Paris,” asking K-pop singers to hold a concert in Paris.
Surprisingly, more than 9,500 fans joined the movement. Recently 55 French K-pop fans visited Seoul to meet their favorite stars. Last week, they visited KBS to watch Music Bank and even sat down with the group SHINee at SM Entertainment. This marks the first time a group of Hallyu fans flew in from Europe to Korea.
The trip was co-organized by the Paris branch of Korea National Tourism Organization and Korean Connection. The two organizations announced that they will soon launch a festival in France introducing Korean culture with a variety of events such as K-pop singing and dancing contests and screenings of Korean dramas.

이번 월말고사 시험은 각 학교의 중간고사 기간과 겹쳐서 평소보다 공부할 시간이 다소 부족했던 것으로 생각됩니다. 또한 중학생들은 학교 중간고사 준비 기간이 겹쳐서 월말고사에 결시한 친구들이 대부분입니다. 학교시험으로 인해 결석한 부분에 대해서는 담임선생님과 보충이 이뤄졌으니 반드시 복습하고 암기하도록 해야 하겠으며, 독해 부분에 대해서는 스스로 문제를 풀어보고 이해가 되지 않거나 해석이 힘든 문장을 뽑아서 담당 선생님과 풀이하는 시간을 가져보도록 하면 좋겠습니다. 결석한 만큼 단어암기가 부족해지기 쉬우니 더욱 열심히 복습과 단어암기를 하도록 많은 격려 부탁드립니다.
