Hello there! My name’s Ali and I’m from Toronto, Canada - but I’ve lived all around the world. England, Canada, and now Korea are all places I’ve called home so it’s no surprise that I love exploring different places and cultures. Prior to arriving in Korea, I was a teaching assistant, delivering lectures to university students about archaeology and history. Of course, even though educational competence is important, instruction alone isn’t the “be all and end all” to being a great teacher. Growing up, the teachers who best connected with me were those who not only cared about their students, but merged their everyday lives with the classroom in a positive way. As someone with a background encompassing various cultures and academic disciplines, I can draw from this deep reservoir of experience in order to better connect with my students. Additionally, I’m an avid performer and believe the classroom is one big stage - so I always strive to bond with my class the way any performer would with their audience. This ensures my students not only stay engaged, but also walk away learning as much as possible!
