      Matching games (present ↔ past) are very effective for ESL learners^^

Memorizing past-tense verb forms is important for ESL learners for several key reasons:

1. English Has Many Irregular Verbs, Not all past verbs follow the simple “-ed” rule.

  Words like /go → went/ eat → ate/  buy → bought/ and /see → saw/ must be memorized

   because there is no rule that explains them. Knowing these forms is essential for accurate communication.

2. Past Verbs Are Used Constantly, Learners need past-tense verbs to:
