Hello, Earth class! My name is Mikayla.This is my first year at ECC, but I have lived in Korea for about 5 years. I am so excited to be working with your children! The last two years, I worked in an elementary school in Minnesota, USA teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade students (ages 5 to 8) phonics, phonemic awareness, and reading. I also taught at a school on Jeju Island for international school preparations including interviews,essay writing and tests.As Earth class’ teacher, I cannot wait to watch their English skills continue to improve! Speaking is important, just as much as reading and writing. At their age, it’s vital to instill the best foundation for later learning. This is trickier with a foreign language, but these students are all so bright and hard working! A large part of my experience in an American school was fostering and building confidence in our learners.It is through confidence that children find success in their education. Thus, I always look
